Copperbridge festival of Cuban culture in Miami offers engagement with island artists – Jordan Levin – MiamiHerald.com.

Copperbridge Foundation has 16 fantastic events coming up in Miami on September 4 – 11 for our Copper Fest (link to see our line up http://eepurl.com/091Mn). 



Thursday September 4, 2014 – We kick off Copper Fest with an evening of contagious rhythm with the Afro-Cuban rock band, Síntesis. Internationally renowned for its unique sound that fuses rock, African melodies with the sensibility and poetry of Cuban trova. There will be an opening night reception immediately following the performance.  



Friday September 5, 2014 Síntesis plays a secon night



Saturday September 6, 2014 DanzAbierta, one of the preeminent modern dance companies of Cuba, will be performing Showroom (2012) created by choreographer and dancer Susana Pous. DanzAbierta helped us kick off our inaugural event of Cultural Evolution back in 2013, now they are back by popular demand.  



Sunday September 7, 2014 DanzAbierta, plays a matinee performance

 

In additon to the line-up, we will be hosting a very unique Fundraising dinner at The District  for 50 guests, with a menu created by James Beard nominated Executive Chef Horacio Rivadero on Wednesday, September 10th. For $200, each guest will be able to choose their unique dinner plate created especially for the Copperbridge by ceramicist Carlos Alberto Rodríguez, who will also be joining us for the event. A portion of the proceeds will be tax-deductible and will go towards the Copperbridge Foundation programs. Reserve your place at the table by purchasing a plate – http://copperbridge.org/dinner/
