Lampidis Cancer Foundation Annual Fundraiser.

Support a Most Promising Cure for Cancer

Lampidis Cancer Foundation Annual Fundraiser

February 5th 6-9 p.m. @ The District Miami

Dr. Theodore Lampidis based at the University of Miami’s renowned Miller School of Medicine is a world leading authority on glucose metabolism and its effect on cancerous tumors. The National Cancer Institute has stated in their reviews of his research that “Dr. Lampidis’ work could eventually lead to cures in certain cancers.”

Although his work has been fully funded by National Cancer Institute grants for more than 30 years, due to federal budget cuts, as well as the nature of the drug he is working on (which cannot be patented), a group of volunteers has joined to form the Lampidis Cancer Foundation with the sole purpose of supporting his groundbreaking research.

Please join us at this special event to help keep his pioneering work going so that it can one day benefit cancer sufferers worldwide.

THE LAMPIDIS FOUNDATION is a
non profit 501(c) 3 charitable organization.

This provides funding for Dr Lampidis‘ ongoing cancer research that is focused on eradicating cancer by exploiting a trait common to most tumors; Increased  sugar uptake. Although the PET scan has been around for more than two decades and has proven that tumors take up more glucose than normal cells it has not been successfully exploited for treatment. Dr.Lampidis has found that a sugar very similar to glucose,  (2-deoxygluscose) , can be used to trick most if not all types of cancers to take it up selectively and because it cannot be utilized inside the cell  for energy or for growth it essentially starves the tumor cell to death. His cell culture and laboratory animal work has led to FDA approval of a Phase I clinical trial that has recently been reported. The donations are now needed to bring his technology thru a series of other clinical trials before it can be used as a new universal treatment for most if not all cancers!

Although his work has been supported by grants from the National Institutes of Health, with the small amounts of funding available now and in the immediate future his work has reached the stage where he must turn to philanthropy in order to  sustain as  well as accelerate  this  groundbreaking research. As we are all aware, time is not on a cancer patient’s side. The time is now to support this potentially revolutionary treatment for cancer . We are expecting  to  initially raise $12 million dollars and this occasion presents a unique opportunity for exposure.

It is remarkable to think that Miami is on the front line in the race to bring the cure to cancer to those that need it most. Most of us will be touched by cancer at some time in our lives and there’s no time or opportunity to be wasted to get involved-Together we can make a difference.

Thanking you advance taking the time to read about our efforts and mission.
